he former president director of state electricity firm PLN, Dahlan Iskan, won a pretrial motion on Tuesday related to corruption charges worth Rp 1.06 trillion (US$78.62 million) in the South Jakarta District Court.
The presiding judge, Lendriaty Janis, accepted Dahlan's pretrial plea, arguing that the corruption charges against the former president director were invalid and lacked a legal basis.
'We accept all pretrial motions,' he said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
This decision will lead to the cancellation of the decision of the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office to name Dahlan a graft suspect in a major power project to construct 21 power transformers in Java, Bali and West Nusa Tenggara.
Responding to the court's decision, the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office spokesperson, Waluyo, said that his office would respect all the legal process but it would not stop its investigation into the case. (ika)
