Malaysian authorities have obtained an arrest warrant for the founder and editor of the Sarawak Report whistleblower website, the Malaysian Insider reported on Tuesday.
The report citing the head of the Criminal Investigation Department said the Malaysian police would seek help from Interpol and Aseanapol to detain the Britain-based Clare Rewcastle-Brown.
It added that she would be investigated for her involvement in activities that were "detrimental to parliamentary democracy".
Sarawak Report has been publishing reports that allege graft and mismanagement by the debt-laden state investment fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Malaysian authorities blocked access to the news portal last month claiming it had violated a local Internet law, in a move condemned by opposition lawmakers and activists. (ika)(++++)
