he Muhammadiyah central executive board'€™s (DPP) new members are set to be elected during the third plenary meeting of the group'€™s 47th national congress (muktamar) on Wednesday in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

The congress'€™ organizing committee says as many as 2,995 participants who have a right to vote will elect a formation of 13 new appointments from 39 names proposed during a tanwir meeting, or a forum held prior to the congress, which took place from Aug. 1 to 2.

The committee said the 13 appointed persons would determine Muhammadiyah central executive board leaders for the period of 2015-2020.

Meanwhile, the announcement of the new central executive board members will be done during the seventh plenary meeting on Thursday.

The Muhammadiyah central executive board'€™s new chairman and general secretary will be determined and announced during the eighth plenary meeting. The handover of the chairmanship from the current chairman, Din Syamsuddin, to the new elected leader is scheduled to be held on the final day of the congress on Friday. (ebf)(+++)
