oordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister (Menkopolhukam) Tedjo Edhy Purdjianto broadcast a farewell message this morning in response to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo'€™s reshuffle, which will be announced officially on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a report by tempo.co, the message, sent out to the ministry's deputies and officers, said, '€œIn regards to the end of my term as Menkopolhukam, I bid farewell and apologize for any wrongdoings. Thank you for your support and cooperation. God bless us all, Amen, Tedjo Edhy Purdjianto.'€

Tedjo was one of the ministers called to a private meeting with the President last night. His office in the ministry has been empty since the meeting.

Tempo.co also reported that the staff at the Trade Ministry are currently emptying the office of its minister, Rachmat Gobel. Another attendee of last night'€™s meeting, Andi Widjajanto, has seen his picture added to a wall of former cabinet secretaries.

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya, who was not called up for the meeting, is currently in Papua visiting the Carstensz region of Timika. He admitted to having heard only a little about the reshuffle.

'€œI heard very little as I am currently on a work trip in Carstensz,'€ he said as quoted by Antara news agency on Wednesday.

Arief added that the option of reshuffling is the President's prerogative and the ministers were to focus on their job of executing planned programs. (rad/kes)(++++)
