ilincing Police detectives are hunting down a 20-year-old man suspected as the murderer of Johan Krisdayanto, 16, who was killed at the Bangleo River in Cilincing, North Jakarta.
The suspect, identified only as K, stabbed the victim after having a quarrel at dawn on Wednesday, causing severe stab wounds to the head and abdomen.
'The victim was carried to Pelabuhan Hospital [in Koja, North Jakarta], but he died at 8 a.m.,' Cilincing Police detective chief Adj. Comr. Andre Soeharto said on Wednesday.
Andre added that the quarrel was triggered by a short text message containing a challenge to fight from the suspect to Johan. Johan subsequently accepted the challenge and arrived at the location with two friends, Amir and Iman, both of whom were 16 years old.
The two friends failed to catch the suspect who ran away after stabbing the victim.
'We have questioned some witnesses who were at the location,' Andre said.
