The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Bali has arrested 48 foreigners for allegedly being involved in online gambling.
The 13 women and 35 men from Taiwan and China were arrested on Thursday at a villa in Jimbaran.
'We need to investigative further regarding how they operate. So far, I am quite sure that they don't only operate in Indonesia but also in other countries,' the office's representative Tieldwight Sabaru said as quoted by kompas.com on Friday.
Tieldwight said that during the arrest some of the suspects had tried to escape but the officers had managed to capture them all.
The officers also found that some suspects carried incorrect immigration documents, with several on tourist visas while not keeping within the requirements of them.
The officers seized 35 laptops, a printer, 85 WiFi routers, 27 mobile phones, three land phones, one CCTV system, 59 internet modems, four USBs and two memory sticks during the arrest. (ika)(++++)
