Media hyenas take note: The churches have nothing to apologize for re-excluding homosexuals from marriage, etc
edia hyenas take note: The churches have nothing to apologize for re-excluding homosexuals from marriage, etc. And no, Bill Shorten, George Pell does not need to appear. Because, although a Christian (others can judge how good or otherwise) I am not a Catholic; however, I can assure you the new pope would have had Pell checked out (and now Pell has quashed accusations by tabling his travel visas, etc.)!
The new pope would have Pell's guts for garters if Pell had been deceptive; because Jesus Christ Himself said: 'Let he who hurts the little ones have a millstone hung about his neck. And then let he be sunk into the deepest of waters.'
Furthermore, as a grandfather of six (the youngest 8 years old) any man of God who touched any of them would find his 'halo' so firmly knotted around his 'family jewels' they would never again sparkle!
I believe many of those claiming to be abused were abused and that all guilty priests (imams, rabbis, etc.) should get double the prison sentences any laypeople receive. There is a witch hunt here, just as there was against Anglican Bishop Peter Hollingworth. I witnessed (as a bystander) a disgraceful howling pack of 20- to 40-year-old 'media hyenas' literally chasing Hollingworth, shouting: 'Where is the child abuser? Where is the child abuser?' at Hollingworth, a very good man who made some bad administrative decisions.
I believe the rape of any young person by any 'spiritual leader' is a truly heinous crime. Literally hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of Australians went through the Catholic Church's education system. What percentage have been abused by priests? And unlike Shorten, many heroic Catholic priests (even recently) have stood in front of their 'flocks' and have been gunned down defending innocents (of which, 'Shifty' Shorten would be hard pressed to find among his worker betraying flock).
So, just where are all the defenders of the wonderful Catholic education (that so many Protestant and Jewish families sent their children to) that set them up for life?
