Young Indonesian-American actress Cassandra Lee is learning to speak in a natural Indonesian accent for her upcoming role as a village girl in the action movie Tiger Boy.
'For two weeks, I practiced Indonesian with my mom so that I could do the accent,' the 14-year-old actress said as quoted by kompas.com at the movie's promotional event at Jakarta Comic Con.
Apart from practicing at home, the actress of soap opera Ganteng-Ganteng Serigala (Handsome Wolves) also took a private course to learn the Betawi language of the Jakarta area.
Cassandra said she was glad to finally be able to show her acting skills on the big screen.
'Acting in a movie is more natural compared to soap opera. In the movie, I got the chance to work alongside and learn from senior actors.'
