olice have named a hotel employee, Ni Nyoman Mulyani, a suspect on charges of blasphemy for her alleged involvement in organizing a gay wedding in Ubud, Bali, recently.
'We have enough evidence to accuse her of committing religious blasphemy,' Gianyar Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Farman said on Thursday.
However, Farman acknowledged that there was no gay wedding ceremony at Four Seasons Resort Ubud on the day when the controversial photos circulating on social media were taken last month.
He said the ceremony was only a penglukatan (cleansing) ceremony for the gay couple, who had been married in the US several months ago.
He added that the ceremony, led by a pemangku (Hindu leader), was a ceremony package that was commonly offered by the hotel.
