Lampung Police say that revenge was the motivation for the killing and gruesome mutilation of a chauffeur at a travel agency, identified as Rudi, whose genitals were chopped off and eaten by his murderer.
Lampung Police chief Brig. Gen. Edward Syah Pernong said that when Rudi's wife Nency heard about the discovery of an unidentified body in a burned-out black Daihatsu Xenia in Penumangan Lama village, West Tulangbawang regency, on Oct. 4, she believed the body could be that of her missing husband.
Accompanied by her father-in-law Mat Saleh, she went to the location and identified her husband. He had sustained head injuries and his genitals had been mutilated.
"Nency recognized the burned-out car as the one her husband drove in his work as a chauffeur in a travel agency," Edward said, as quoted by Tribunnews.com.
Tulangbawang Police arrested a couple, identified only as RE and N, on Saturday. The police believe the couple set fire to the car after RE stabbed Rudi to death.
Police believe that RE launched a sudden attack on Rudi after hiring him and his car, Edward said.
RE is alleged to have told the police that he had become enraged after discovering that his wife, N, whom he married a month before he comitted the crime, was not a virgin when they consummated their marriage.
N later said she had been raped by Rudi in his rented car a week prior to the wedding day. RE thereupon set out to take revenge on Rudi for the alleged rape by asking his wife to contact Rudi for a rendezvous in order to attack him.
"I was so mad at him for raping my wife that I planned to kill him. I ate his genitals in a bid to assuage my fury. I did it all myself, my wife had nothing to do with this," said RE. (ags)(+)
