The House of Representatives' Ethics Council (MKD) has decided to summon Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said in the case against House speaker Setya Novanto.
MKD chief Surahman Hidayat said that the council will summon the minister on Wednesday to question the latter's report that Setya misused the names of President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla in negotiations for shares with gold and copper mining firm PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI).
"The majority [of MKD members] chose to continue the trial by officiating the trial schedule," MKD chief Surahman Hidayat said, referring to the voting result on Tuesday evening.
Surahman said the council would also question PTFI president director Maroef Sjamsoeddin and oil and gas businessman M. Reza Chalid on Thursday.
Contacted separately, Minister Sudirman said he would explain what he knew to the council.
"It is not right to tell the public now. I'll be invited to the MKD to explain the full conversation. I will explain it then," Sudirman said at the House complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.
