Greater Jakarta: Woman'€™s body found in South Jakarta

he body of a woman was discovered by residents of Pondok Pinang in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, near Bakti Mulya 400 senior high school on Thursday afternoon.

Insp. Joko Purnomo, chief of the traffic unit at the Kebayoran Lama Police, said that the police learned about the discovery after receiving a report from a resident. He said the woman was believed to be about 50 years of age.

'€œWe are investigating the case in order to determine the cause of her death,'€ he said on Thursday as quoted by wartakotalive.com.

The body was already decomposed when it was found. Local resident Puspa, 21, said it was discovered by a child who was playing near the scene at around 4 p.m.

'€œThe child then reported his discovery to a nearby police station,'€ she said.

The South Jakarta Police is collaborating with the Kebayoran Lama Police on the case. On Thursday afternoon, shortly after the discovery was reported, the police had taped off the area around the scene and were conducting inquiries.
