Missing ferry: Commuter ferries leaving the HarbourFront terminal as they head to Batam

A ferry serving the Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi- Siwa, South Sulawesi route has reportedly been missing since Saturday after reporting engine failure amid high waves.
Siwa Port head Muhammad Ridwan said that the KMP Marina TB2 ferry was carrying 91 adults and sixteen children. The ferry was last seen in Kolaka regency and lost contact with port operators about 13 nautical-miles from Siwa Port.
'We're preparing a large ship to search for the ferry because waves are high,' Ridwan said, as reported by tempo.co on Saturday.
Bone Water Police Adj. Comr. Armin Sukma said that he had would provide assistance in the search for the ferry. The Indonesian Military (TNI) is also assisting in search efforts. (ags)
