Colombia'€™s Ariadna Gutierrez took to social media Wednesday morning (Manila time) to thank her supporters and to note that she was '€œable to bring happiness'€ to her country after she was hailed Miss Universe even '€œfor only a couple of minutes.'€

Two days after the controversy which mired this year'€™s pageant, Miss Universe 2015 first runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez posted on her Instagram page a picture of her gesturing a heart and another while wearing a bikini, each accompanied with an English and Spanish caption, respectively, carrying her thoughts on the debacle.

'€œAfter the storm comes the calm. I want to thank each and everyone of you who have sent messages of support and strength,'€ the Colombian beauty queen said on her post. '€œEvery one of you has become an incredible human being in my book and I am the most fortunate and thankful for having the support not only from one country but from the whole entire world.'€

Host Steve Harvey wrongly declared her as the winner of the international beauty tilt on Monday. He shortly corrected his error and announced that the Philippines'€™ Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was the winner of Miss Universe 2015. The Latina beauty, who held the crown for two minutes, acknowledged that '€œyour destiny is written for you.'€

'€œAnd my destiny was this. I was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes,'€ she said.

On a positive note, Gutierrez said that because of the incident Colombia and the Latin community are now '€œbeing talked about in every corner of the world.'€

Gutierrez extended her congratulations to Filipinos, whose feeling of happiness, she said, '€œmust be incredible.'€

She ended her post by saying that '€œlife continues and in the future we will find out why things happen the way they happen. Thank you all for your love, support and kindness.'€

As of writing, her two photos have received more than 133,000 likes and 12,000 comments. Gutierrez has also not taken down her photos wearing the Miss Universe crown, which many netizens criticized her for. (kes)
