Guess what?: JKT48 aims to go international

J

AKARTA: Platoon-sized girl band JKT48 says it is hoping to introduce its music to a larger audience around the globe this year.

'€œOur 2016 resolution is to be more successful and go international,'€ girl band member Melody told kompas.com recently.

'€œWe strive to work harder. We will also launch our new album in January,'€ she added.

JKT48, a sister group to Japan-based AKB48, spent New Year'€™s Eve performing at Mall Alam Sutera, on the outskirts of Jakarta. On Jan. 1, JKT48'€™s Twitter account shared a video teaser of their new single, '€œBeginner'€, in which the girls showed a different look, swapping their colorful dresses for black and white uniforms.
