AKARTA: Platoon-sized girl band JKT48 says it is hoping to introduce its music to a larger audience around the globe this year.
'Our 2016 resolution is to be more successful and go international,' girl band member Melody told kompas.com recently.
'We strive to work harder. We will also launch our new album in January,' she added.
JKT48, a sister group to Japan-based AKB48, spent New Year's Eve performing at Mall Alam Sutera, on the outskirts of Jakarta. On Jan. 1, JKT48's Twitter account shared a video teaser of their new single, 'Beginner', in which the girls showed a different look, swapping their colorful dresses for black and white uniforms.
