As someone who works in a digital industry, Roki Soeharyo, co-founder and chief operating officer of local game developer TouchTen, believes that technology is a tool to help humans increase their capabilities.
'One of the most important roles of technology is its ability to close social gaps by opening access to people who live far from the country's capital,' he said.
For example, Roki added, those who did not have access to information and education could find on the internet with their smartphones.
However, that can only materialize once the challenges that hampered Indonesia's digital development are solved.
'About 90 million people in Indonesia are connected to the internet, but connectivity is still the biggest problem here. In big cities you can get a steady internet connection, but when you're in rural areas the connection can be disappointing,' Roki said.
Roki, 27, built TouchTen Games together with his brother Anton Soeharyo and their cousin Dede Indrapurna in 2009.
They have been exposed to games since they were little and it was natural for them to develop games together.
As of today, TouchTen employs 30 people and develops a dozen games, including Ramen Chain, Dagelan Puzzle, Infinite Sky, Pegacorn and Teka Teki Saku.

Smartphone
My first considerations for buying a phone are battery life and speed. I now use Samsung Galaxy S4 because, as a game developer, it's easier for me to develop and test a game on Android than on iOS. With Android, I can just drag and drop the game file that I have developed in the game engine, download it and try it. With iOS the trial process is more difficult.
Unity3D
I use this game engine to create games on my laptop or desktop. This one is popular among game developers because it is easy to use and facilitates the creation of games for multiple platforms.
Applications
I like Google News to read the latest news on international affairs, technology and soccer. I like to play one of the games TouchTen has created, Teka Teki Saku. In addition, I also like to play games developed by Bandung game developers, Tinker Games, because they offer interesting stories and sharp displays. I also use WhatsApp frequently to communicate and I sometimes use the Uber app to help me get around in Jakarta.
