ctress and director Lola Amaria has invited Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama to be a whispering volunteer at an event to present her latest movie, Jingga (Orange), to 600 blind audience members.
'He [Ahok] said he was interested and thinks that it's important because Jakarta has to be a friendly city for people with disabilities,' she said as quoted by kompas.com.
Apart from Ahok, she also invited governors and mayors from other areas.
'We also invited West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan and Surakarta Mayor FX Hadi Rudyatmo,' said 38-year-old Lola.
The audience, Lola said, would be accompanied by whispering volunteers, and officials were welcomed if they wanted to become volunteers.
'The blind also have the right to watch movies. Our cinemas don't have whispering volunteer facilities and we want to facilitate them through this event,' she said.
