span style="line-height:1.6em">The Liverpool Academy invited seven Indonesian futsal players to train with them after the football team won an annual Standard Chartered Bank competition earlier in the year.
Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy trained the Indonesian players along with teams from Brunei and Uganda at the Liverpool FC Academy complex in England.
"The players are keen to learn," Kennedy said on the sidelines of the training session on Saturday.
The seven Indonesian players are Dede Hermawan, Achmad Fachri, Hendra Erdiansyah, Nicko Prayogo, Rif'ad Basymeleh, Setio Pramono and Taufik Hidayat. The players come from Jakarta, Bekasi, Jember and Surabaya.
The players worked on their passing, dribbling and heading skills, and are ready to compete in a friendly match against the winners from other countries.
"It's a dream come true because we're all fans of Liverpool FC," team captain Dede said, adding that his team mates were also members of the official Indonesian Liverpool FC fan club, the BigReds.
The futsal players were also invited to tour Liverpool FC's famous Anfield Stadium, and are set to attend an English Premier League match between Liverpool and Watford at Anfield. (dan)
