A

small Cessna 208B plane crashed at Yahukimo in Papua on Tuesday morning at 8:05 a.m., local time, ripping through several houses in the neighborhood of the Nobgoliat Yahukimo Airport.

No fatalities were reported in the incident, which caused seven injuries. The injured were taken to the nearby Wamena Hospital for medical treatment.

The plane belongs to the Associated Mission Aviation (AMA) organization with the registration number PK-RCK. The incident is currently under investigation by local authorities.

AMA Papua director Djarot Soetanto confirmed there were no casualties in the accident  

“However, as the plane hit some homes, two people were reportedly injured as they were inside their honai [a traditional house],” Djarot said as quoted by metrotvnews.com.

The pilot of the ill-fated plane was Brian Potingger. (dmr)
