akarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama expelled a journalist from City Hall on Thursday morning in an outburst of anger after taking questions about recent graft accusations.
After claiming that the graft accusations made by lawmaker Junimart Girsang regarding Teman Ahok, his volunteer supporter group, were baseless, Ahok began to talk about himself. He said that he was clean, which made him different from other officials.
His anger was aroused when one journalist asked: “So, does that mean that no official is greater than you?”
The question quickly incensed Ahok, and he claimed that the journalist was being deliberately provocative to spin the story.
“You can no longer come here. Let me get this straight with you. The media can’t corner me. I’ve never been scared of any of you,” Ahok said.
To the journalist, he stressed his warning. “I don’t have an obligation to answer all of your questions. Don’t ever come here to interview me again,” Ahok said. (bbn)
