essica Kumala Wongso's behavior at Olivier restaurant on Jan. 6 when Wayan Mirna Salihin lay convulsing on the floor was peculiar, a digital forensic expert claimed when testifying at the Central Jakarta District Court on Wednesday.
As seen in CCTV footage played during the court hearing, at 5.23 p.m. when Olivier staff were trying to help Mirna, who was convulsing violently and frothing at the mouth, Jessica just stood there, rubbing and scratching her palms.
"If there were no problems with her hands, why did she keep scratching them?" said Adj. Sr. Comr. Mohammad Nuh Al-Azhar, the digital forensic expert.
On Aug. 3, a toxicologist from the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department, Sr. Comr. Nursamran Subandi, said cyanide had a burning and itching effect on the skin.
"One of the effects of cyanide is itchy skin. I've tried it myself," Nursamran said.
Nuh said Jessica kept scratching her hands when she picked up her handbag. At 5.25 p.m., Jessica rubbed her hands on her right thigh.
"Her fingers twisted as she bent. Why did she keep scratching her hands? The scratching happened a couple of times," Nuh said. (bbn)
