he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on gathering data, in an effort to detect potential corruption cases.
The KPK will provide data related to public facilities and other sectors that are linked to corruption or have the potential to be.
KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo said the agreement would help to determine the KPK’s strategy in preventing corruption.
“We want to know the favorite type of corruption committed by corruptors in society,” he said at his office on Monday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
He added that KPK personnel also needed to know about public perceptions of their attempts to prevent and curb corruption.
BPS chairman Suryamin said the agreement was part of his agency’s responsibility to provide data and information in relation to corruption case mapping as mandated by the government. “We are asking the public about their perceptions of the ongoing antigraft efforts.
