ustralian toxicologist Michael David Robertson said on Wednesday that the amount of cyanide in the stomach of Wayan Mirna Salihin, who was killed on Jan. 6 after drinking coffee, was not enough to have caused her death.
If Mirna consumed material tainted by cyanide, then high doses of cyanide would have been found inside her stomach, said Robertson at a hearing at the Central Jakarta District Court when he testified for murder suspect Jessica Kumala Wongso, as reported by tribunnews.com.
Speaking about the 0.2 milligrams of cyanide taken from Mirna’s stomach 70 minutes after her death, Robertson said that such a small amount of cyanide could have appeared during the process of Mirna’s death.
Jessica was accused of murdering Mirna by putting cyanide into her coffee cup at a table they shared at Olivier café in Central Jakarta on Jan. 6. Mirna died on her way to hospital.
Therefore, Robertson said, there was no evidence that the cyanide entered Mirna’s body through her mouth, (bbn)
