wefie of Jakarta gubernatorial hopeful pairs, uploaded by hopeful Anies Baswedan on his Path account, has gone viral and been welcomed warmly by netizens, who expressed hope that the gubernatorial election would be free of hateful incidents.
“Wefie before health check up :),” Anies wrote on his Path account.
It seemed that the picture was taken using Anies’ cell phone. It was screen captured and quickly went viral on Saturday.
The picture has all six candidates: incumbent Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and running mate Djarot Saiful Hidayat, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Sylviana Murni, and Anies and Sandiaga Uno.
Sylviana, the only woman, was at the center of the picture.
Tribunnews.com reported on Facebook that the wefie elicited positive comments from netizens.
“Someone wrote this is proof that the Jakarta election will have a limited amount of horizontal conflicts or those related to SARA [ethnicity, religion and race],” tribunnews.com reported Saturday.
Another said he was happy to see the candidates get along with each other.
The three pairs in the Jakarta gubernatorial race underwent checkups on Saturday. (evi)
