Hijab fashionistas are everywhere these days, and being one seems to be the coolest thing.
However, long before the hijab became cool, blogger and social media influencer Fifi Alvianto had already seen the market potential of the Islamic veil.
“It was the year 2010, and nobody created any content to talk about hijab fashion. So, I decided to target this niche. That was also the time when I began to wear a hijab,” Fifi told The Jakarta Post recently.
After asking some of her friends whether they would be interested in reading a fashion hijab blog, Fifi created her blog at hijab-scarf.com.
Her instinct turned out to be right, as her blog garnered a large readership within just a year. Her readers then also became devoted followers of Fifi’s Instagram account.
Fifi’s popularity in the hijab fashion world has opened her many doors. She now has her own magazine and her own hijab clothing line. She has also expanded her reach to the family niche due to her growing popularity.
“Now I mainly use Instagram to share photos about hijab and family,” she added. That’s why she needs special gadgets to help her produce high-quality images for her Instagram account.
Below are some of her favorite devices:
------------------
IPhone 6S
I use this smartphone mainly to put captions on my photos. It also has a great camera that takes high-definition videos. I use this to post videos for the Insta Stories feature on Instagram.

Fuji X-M1
I love using this camera, because it produces very sharp and very high-quality photos. It is also very easy to transfer photos from this camera to my smartphone. I have been using it for about a year. It is a bit expensive for a camera, but it delivers great results, which I think justifies its price tag. I do not plan to switch cameras in the near future. I also use a lot of lenses to provide different filters for this camera.

VSCO
I have Photoshop installed on my laptop to edit photos. I also use the VSCO app on my smartphone to add color effects to my photos. There is also the Adobe Light Pro application installed on my smartphone. As for social media, I mainly use Path and Facebook, besides Instagram. I rarely use Twitter, because [social media for me] is more for work purposes than to post updates or share stuff.
