bore pile machine used for the Light Rapid Transit (LRT) project fell on a local’s house on Jl. Jaya Kusuma in Makassar, East Jakarta, on Friday, injuring a 5-year-old child.
Beritajakarta.com reported on Friday that the incident occurred at around 9 a.m. when the machine and its 20 meter-long pipe drill tilted over and fell, allegedly as a result of unstable land.
The machine fell on the house of 56-year-old Asmani and destroyed the front part of the house. Euis, Asmani’s daughter who lives in the house, said her 5-year-old son named Fabio suffered light injuries from the debris.
No statement has been issued yet by state-owned construction company PT Adhi Karya, the company responsible for the machine.
