outh Jakarta Police launched a smartphone app called “Lapor Berantas Narkoba” (Report and Eradicate Drugs), in which residents can report drug abuse in South Jakarta through an Android smartphone.

The app is integrated with Jakarta province’s reporting app Qlue. Launched on Thursday, the app can be used only by those using Telkomsel service.

South Jakarta Police Anti-Drug Unit head Comr. Vivict Tjangkung said the program was made in response to a number of drug abuse cases.

“Jakarta and the satellite cities, including South Jakarta, are good places for drug abusers to open networks. We have to step up our game and involve the public,” she said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
