onstruction services firm Waskita Beton Precast, subsidiary of state-owned general contractor Waskita Karya, aims to maintain last year’s positive performance and secure new contracts worth Rp 12.3 trillion in 2017.

Throughout 2016, Waskita Beton sealed new contracts worth up to Rp 12.2 trillion (US$908.5 million), significantly higher than its original target of only Rp 7.9 trillion. Among the new contracts were the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road in West Java and the Salatiga-Boyolali toll road in Central Java.

“We aim to secure new contracts worth Rp 12.3 trillion in 2017,” the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Previously, following its official listing on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in September, Waskita Beton stated that it had allocated Rp 4 trillion in capital expenditure to expand outside Java until 2018, including for the development of dozens of factories.

"We want it to have 13 factories in 2018, with the next three factories to be built in East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi and North Sumatra. We’ve already secured land there,” president director Jarot Subana said. (est)
