P

ublicly listed property developer Agung Podomoro Land (APLN) announced on Tuesday that it had teamed up with consumer electronics manufacturer Samsung Electronics Indonesia to provide the former’s residents and shopping center customers with smart technology.

The collaboration will enable the residents and customers to use Samsung’s smart home technology to control their home appliances, such as washing machines and televisions, and their electricity from their smartphones while they are out, Samsung Electronics Indonesia vice president Lee Kang Hyun said.

The technology will first be implemented at Agung Podomoro’s Grand Madison condominium project in West Jakarta and the Cimanggis low-cost apartment building in Depok, West Java.

Agung Podomoro Land vice president director Indra W. Antono said some of the basic smart technology would be bundled within the sale package of its apartments, while some others would be available according to customer preference.

“The basic smart technology for security will be provided. For instance, if we find out from our smartphones if there is smoke in our apartment, or realize that our apartment door is open, we can directly inform security,” he said. (tas)
