akarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono said Wednesday they had arrested four students of the Indonesian Merchant Marine Academy (STIP) in Cilincing, North Jakarta, following the death of their junior, Amirullah "Amir" Adityas Putra, 18.
Argo said as quoted by tribunnews.com that Amir was beaten on Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. in a dormitory. The police said the victim was given medical treatment from 12:15 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. but he did not survive.

The health workers reported the death to Cilincing Police and not long after that the police detained four suspects, identified as Sisko Mataheru, 19, Willy Hasiholan, 20, Inswanto, 21, and Akbar Ramadhan, 20.
“The body has been brought to police hospital for an autopsy,” he said.
Cilincing Police’s crime unit head, Adj. Comr. Andre Soeharto claimed that after a marching band rehearsal Sisko asked his friends to haze their juniors in the band.
The four allegedly called six juniors and immediately beat them. Andre said the four allegedly took turns to beat the juniors all over their bodies. He said no weapons were used. He said the assault on Amir only stopped after he fell unconscious. (evi)
