slam Defenders Front chairman Rizieq Shihab was questioned on Thursday at West Java Police headquarters in a case for alleged defamation of a state symbol following complaints made by Sukmawati Soekarnoputri, daughter of founding father Sukarno.

Kompas.com reported that Rizieq arrived at police headquarters in a white Pajero SUV that had the plate number "B 1 FPI", at 9:25 a.m. He refused to comment to the waiting press before entering the interrogation room along with his lawyers.

West Java Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said police investigators only allowed three people to be present during the questioning.

"The investigators only allow three people, which includes lawyers and the person to be questioned," Yusri said.

Traffic police closed down the slow lane in front of the police headquarters, which was occupied by Rizieq's supporters and protesters.

"We closed down the slow lane to ease traffic and applied contraflow measures," Yusri said. (dmr)
