Indonesia and Saudi Arabia are set to discuss 10 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) during the visit of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, a Saudi top official has said.

Some would be signed during the visit, but some others needed more preparation and would be signed after the visit, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Jakarta Osama bin Mohammed Abdullah Al Shuaibi told a press briefing at the Saudi Arabian Embassy on Tuesday.

The MoUs would cover fields such as security, Islamic affairs, health, culture, education, investment, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and civil aviation, Osama said.

King Salman and his large entourage of 1,500 people, including 25 princes, will be arriving on Wednesday.

Osama said teams from both countries were finalizing MoUs before being signed.

Osama said a number of MoUs on tourism, housing, and power plant would not be signed during the visit because they needed more preparation. “Those MoUs will be signed after the visit,” he said.

King Salman is scheduled to visit Indonesia from March 1 to 9 and will spend the first three days in Jakarta on a state visit. On March 4 the King and his entourage will fly to Nusa Dua, Bali, where they will stay until the end of their trip. (evi)
