lection Organization Ethics Council (DKPP) head Jimly Asshiddiqie said the council received 163 complaints of alleged violations of election ethics during the regional elections on Feb. 15.

Of the total, 70.8 percent reported ethics violations allegedly committed by General Elections Commission (KPU) officials while the remaining 29.2 percent complained about Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) officials.

The DKPP said 29 of the 163 complaints were from Aceh, while Papua submitted 23 complaints, making them the areas with the highest numbers.

“The types of complaints are varied, mostly related to candidate requirements, which amount to 60 cases. Meanwhile, 27 complaints are about administrative disputes and 22 others are related to voter lists," Jimly explained.

He said the DKPP decided to drop 69 complaints because of a lack of evidence, while 60 complaints would be brought to the court. The remaining 33 complaints were still being verified. (dis/ebf)
