ravel site Traveloka has granted awards to 28 hotels in Bali for providing the best accommodation experience to guests from January through January to December 2016.

The hotels were selected as winners based on online reviews submitted by customers who booked hotel rooms via Traveloka.

“Besides the 28 Bali hotels, we will also give similar awards to 212 other hotels in Bandung, West Java; Jakarta; Surabaya, East Java; and Yogyakarta,” Traveloka country market manager John Safenson said during the award ceremony on Tuesday evening.

The awards have three categories: Prestige, for hotels considered to have provided an extraordinary experience beyond guests’ expectations; Premium, for hotels offering best experience with maximum convenience; and Value, for hotels providing quality experience and good value for money. Each category was assessed based on four elements: food, cleanliness, service and overall.

Among Bali hotels winning awards were Mulia Resort, Inaya Putri Bali, Courtyard by Marriott Bali Nusa Dua and The Trans Resort Bali.

Safenson said guest experience was important to maximize a hotel’s reputation. “Positive reviews attract more customers, boost referral customers and build customer loyalty.

“It also helps travelers to choose good hotels. Over 90 percent of customers will read hotel reviews and more than 70 percent of customers think that other travelers' online reviews are very important for deciding where to stay,” he added. Award ceremonies in the four other cities will be conducted in coming weeks. (ebf)
