he first store to showcase native Jakartan souvenirs and culture, the Betawi store, was opened on Thursday at the National Monument (Monas).
Acting Jakarta governor Sumarsono inaugurated the store aimed to promote Betawi culture and its souvenirs to both domestic and foreign tourists.
“It isn’t easy for visitors to find Betawi souvenirs. So the city administration, in coordination with Bamus Betawi [the Betawi Culture Consultative Body] has arranged this store,” Sumarsono said on the sidelines of the opening ceremony.

The store is located within the Lenggang Jakarta food court and souvenir center in the Monas parking lot in Central Jakarta.
Among the showcased items are Betawi batik and kebaya kerancang (traditional blouse), besides other souvenirs
