roperty portal Rumah.com launched a property index on Thursday, the first in Indonesia to push property market transparency.
The index will help buyers have a valid reference of property prices, said Rumah.com country manager Wasudewan as reported by tribunnews.com on Thursday, adding that the absence of such an index had caused certain prices to be much higher than market prices.
“Lack of transparency in the property market has caused buyers difficulty in getting references to buy houses,” Wasudewan added.

He said his office had processed property data everyday with the objective of helping people to get valid information about properties, particularly houses.
“From the data taken from various locations, different types of properties, the volume of supply and prices, we present Rumah.com Property Index that will become a solution for property in Indonesia,” Wasudewan added.
Bank Permata vice president Josua Pardede agreed with Wasudewan, saying that people often found it difficult to buy houses for fair prices because of the absence of the references. “Rumah.com Property Index is expected to help people make decisions,” he added. (bbn)
