ga Khan, the lawyer of graft suspect Miryam S. Haryani, protested the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) move to include his client on its most wanted list (DPO) after she skipped two summons for questioning as a perjury suspect in the electronic identity (e-ID) graft case.
“We have not yet been informed of the commission’s decision. I’m going to write a letter to protest her DPO status,” Aga said as quoted by kompas.com in a press conference on Thursday.
The KPK sent a DPO request letter to the National Police and the National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Indonesia on Thursday.

Aga said all this time, his client had been cooperative with the KPK. The lawyer said he had also informed the anti-graft body in writing about a pretrial hearing request filed by Miryam.
“It seems they [the KPK investigators] are discriminating. In other cases, such as [alleged corruption] cases involving Budi Gunawan and Hadi Poernomo, they could halt their investigation after a pretrial motion was submitted,” he said, referring to former National Police deputy chief and former Supreme Audit Agency head, respectively.
“My client has not been named a suspect for alleged corruption. Hence, putting her on a DPO list is too much,” he went on.
Aga said he could present Miryam to give testimony as a witness in an e-ID hearing. However, he could not do it with her status as a perjury suspect because the KPK’s decision to name her a suspect needed to be reviewed in a pretrial hearing. (mrc/ebf)
