Bus accident kills 8 people in West Java

A road accident involving a bus in Cianjur regency, West Java, has killed at least eight people.
West Java Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus said the accident occurred in Ciloto subdistrict on Sunday at 10.30 a.m. when a bus hit a silver Toyota Avanza car, a pickup and several motorcycles.
“Based on the information we have gathered so far, eight people died in the accident,” he said on Sunday, as quoted by Tribunnews.com.
The police, he said, were still identifying the cause of the collision in the Puncak recreation area, which is often packed with vehicles on weekends and on public holidays.
“Our personnel are still carrying out evacuation [efforts] at the location,” he said. (fac/dan)
