resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo arrived at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport in Banda Aceh, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, on Saturday to start their five-day working visit in regions across Indonesia.
In Banda Aceh, Jokowi and Iriana attended the opening of the 15th Farmers and Fishermen National Week, which took place at Harapan Bangsa Sports Stadium in Lhong Raya, Banda Aceh.
From Aceh, they will continue their trip to South Kalimantan, North Maluku and Papua.
In South Kalimantan, Jokowi is set to attend a handover ceremony of a people’s forest from the government to representatives of local communities.
He is later scheduled to inaugurate port facilities at the Tapelo, Wayabula and Bicoli seaports in North Maluku.
The president will also inaugurate an integrated outpost in Skouw, the Pasar Mama-Mama traditional market in Papua and inspect progress of the Trans Papua road project.
Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, Presidential Military Secretary Air Vice Marshall Trisno Hendradi, Presidential Security Details (Paspampres) commander Maj. Gen. Suhartono and Ari Setiawan, the protocol bureau head of the Presidential Secretariat, will accompany Jokowi and Iriana throughout the trip.
They are scheduled to arrive in Jakarta on Wednesday. (mrc/ebf)
