Police close street ahead of Ahok's final hearing
The police have closed the street in front of the Agriculture Ministry on Jl. RM Harsono, Ragunan, South Jakarta, where judges are scheduled to hand down a ruling in Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama's blasphemy trial on Tuesday. The street has been closed since Monday evening.

he police have closed the street in front of the Agriculture Ministry on Jl. RM Harsono, Ragunan, South Jakarta, where judges are scheduled to hand down a ruling in Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama's blasphemy trial on Tuesday. The street has been closed since Monday evening.
"We closed Jl. RM Harsono starting from 10 p.m. Monday to place security equipment in the area," South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Iwan Kurniawan said as quoted by Kompas.com.
He said the street would remain closed until after the hearing, which was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Iwan said the auditorium of the ministry complex had also been cleared of unauthorized visitors starting from 10 p.m. on Monday to 5 a.m. on Tuesday for security reasons.
"We have enforced maximum security, especially in the courtroom," he said.
Traffic in the immediate area will be diverted during the hearing. Vehicles heading toward the ministry will be directed toward Trakindo, Cilandak or Jl. Warung Jati Barat.
Vehicles coming from Jl. Warung Jati Barat to Jl. RM Harsono and from Trakindo, Cilandak, to Jl. RM Harsono will be diverted to Jl. TB Simatupang. Traffic from Ragunan to Jl. RM Harsono will be diverted to Trakindo, Cilandak. (cal/ebf)
