he Financial Services Authority (OJK) on Monday temporary closed its internet-based services and called on financial institutions to ensure the security of their IT networks against the WannaCry ransomware.
The OJK’s communication and international department head, Triyono, said his office was coordinating with financial institutions to determine whether they had been infected with the computer virus.
“So far, we have not got any reports about service problems from any financial institution,” said Triyono, as reported by tribunnews.com on Monday.
To mitigate the risk of virus attacks, the OJK has deactivated its 31 online services.
“The OJK’s IT networks are so far unaffected by the virus,” the official said, adding that his office would announce when the services would go back online.
The 31 deactivated online services include the OJK website (www.ojk.go.id), e-mails, financial information services, an e-government investment portal, financial customer care services, the market reporting information system, the OJK Way service, the corporate financial reporting system, the business financing survey, the foreign customers reporting system and the OJK online report application and financial sector assessment program.
