erminal 3 of the Soerkarno-Hatta International Airport is ready to fully serve members of Skyteam, an airline alliance comprising 20 carriers worldwide, in June, state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II president director Muhammad Awaluddin has said.
“We are optimistic that the operation of Skyteam airlines at Terminal 3 will run smoothly and successfully. Not all members of Skyteam operate in the airport, but with the readiness of Terminal 3, more of the airlines will open their flights to Jakarta,” said Awaluddin in a statement on Friday.
He said international flights had run smoothly for flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, which is also a Skyteam member, since May 1.

“If all flights by Garuda Indonesia and other members of Skyteam are centered at Terminal 3, the terminal will accommodate 70 percent of its total capacity, or 25 million flights in one year,” Awaluddin said.
The other nineteen members of Skyteam are Aeroflot, Aerolineas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Delta Airlines, Kenya Airways, KLM, Korean Air, MEA, Saudia, Tarom, Vietnam Airlines and Xiamen Air.
Awaluddin also said that Skytrain, a shuttle train, would connect the three terminals at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. It is expected to begin operating in July. (bbn)
