nother robbery that ended with a fatal shooting occurred in Greater Jakarta on Monday. The victim, Italia Chandra Kirana Putri, 22, was shot in the chest after attacking two men with a broomstick when she caught them attempting to steal her motorcycle in Tangerang, Banten.

The incident occurred just three days after Davidson Tantono, 30, in Daan Mogot, East Jakarta, lost his life when he tried to prevent two men from stealing a large sum of money. Davidson was shot in the head and died instantly at the scene. The police have not yet been able to identify any suspects.

“[Italia] screamed at the thieves from inside her home while they were trying to steal her motorcycle. When she was screaming, the robbers were ready to flee but she managed to beat one of them with a broomstick,” said Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Department head Adj. Sr. Comr. Arlon Sitinjak on Monday, as quoted by kompas.com

The other man then helped his beaten friend by shooting the victim in the left side of her chest.

The would-be robbers subsequently fled, leaving behind the victim’s motorcycle. Italia was taken to Sari Asih Hospital, but she died before arriving.

The police were continuing their investigation by questioning witnesses and gathering evidence from the crime scene. (wnd)
