orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators confiscated a cardboard box filled with money during the arrest of Bengkulu Governor Ridwan Mukti and his wife Lili Madari in Bengkulu on Tuesday.
It was later reported that the cash amounted to around Rp 1 billion (US$75,200) in bribes from a contractor.
Ridwan is also a Golkar Party politician.
KPK spokesman Febri Diansyaha said a total of five individuals were arrested in the operation. As of Tuesday afternoon, no one had been declared a suspect.

The five have been brought to KPK headquarters in Jakarta after temporarily being held at Bengkulu Police headquarters.
The other three were reportedly contractors.
The KPK will conduct further examinations for at least 24 hours before announcing their status.
They were second bribery-related arrests in Bengkulu and the fifth in Indonesia by the KPK this month.
Earlier this month, the KPK arrested Parlin Purba, the chief of intelligence section 3 of the Bengkulu Prosecutor’s Office in Bengkulu, for allegedly receiving bribes. (ecn/bbs)
