eputy governor-elect Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno is waiting for the green light from the family of Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama to visit the former governor in prison.
"We have expressed [our wish to visit Ahok] to Pak Ahok's family. [We] are now waiting for the green light from them," Sandiaga told wartakota.tribunnews.com on Tuesday.
He explained that a meeting with Ahok was part of his reconciliation program that would become his priority for the rest of this year after being elected as Jakarta’s deputy governor in April.
Aside from Ahok, Sandiaga and governor-elect Anies Baswedan will also meet with Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat (who served as deputy governor under Ahok), ex-governor Sutiyoso, ex-governor Fauzi Bowo and ex-governor Suryadi.
Anies and Sandiaga will be inaugurated as Jakarta's new leaders in October.
Ahok was sentenced to prison in May after being found guilty in a blasphemy case (agn/ika)
