YU Stern Executive Education, part of the New York University Stern School of Business, is set to hold a weeklong program for ASEAN corporate and public sector executives on four main themes, namely globalization, innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership.

With the ASEAN region seen as playing a critical role in driving global economic growth, NYU Stern will host the ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) for regional management consulting firm SRW&Co in New York City, United States, from April 16 to 20 next year.

It will be the first time NYU Stern has hosted the custom program in the city after eight years of it being held annually at several top business schools in the United Kingdom, China and other cities in the US.

SRW&Co. chairman and partner Daniel Wong said the collaboration with NYU Stern would offer its clients a program designed for business leaders faced with exciting opportunities as well as chalenges related to conducting business in ASEAN.

New York City was chosen because it was an epicenter of global business and a thriving hub of innovation that multinational and technology firms as well as startups called home, said NYU Stern’s dean Peter Henry.

Given its proximity, NYU Stern’s faculty were in constant conversation with the business community and would bring the latest insights on global business leadership and innovation for the participants, he added.

The campus’ hands-on classroom sessions included conversations with local entrepreneurs and company visits to a startup technology firms and financial institutions, said Luke Williams, program co-director and executive director of NYU Stern’s W.R. Innovation Labs. (gda)
