Budi Karya said his ministry had competent staff to oversee the transportation infrastructure projects.

“We have many teams that we can rely on. Neither ongoing projects nor planning [for upcoming projects] are affected,” he added, as reported by kontan.co.id.

He said he would assess officials that could be appointed as land transportation director general and railway director general.

“For sea transportation, we will soon appoint an acting official,” the minister said, adding that the permanent sea transportation director general would be discussed later, pending the KPK investigation.

Budi Karya declined to comment further on the arrest of Antonius, stressing that the KPK had not provided him with detailed information. (bbn)
