he Salim Group, through its subsidiary Moya Indonesia, has acquired 100 percent of Acuatico shares from Recapital Advisor in a US$ 92.87-million transaction.
With the acquisition, Salim Group takes over PT Aetra Air Jakarta, PT Aetra Air Tangerang and PT Aetra Air Indonesia from Recapital, a company owned by deputy governor-elect Sandiaga Uno and Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) chairman Rosan P. Roslani.
There has been no immediate confirmation from either Sandiaga or Rosan.
After the acquisition, Moya Indonesia will control Aetra, a tap water service operator in the eastern part of Jakarta. Meanwhile, it will also serve customers in Tangerang until Oct. 2, 2034.
Kontan.co.id reported that the acquisition was announced at the Singapore Stock Exchange on Aug. 23, while the transaction was completed on June 11.
“On July 8, Moya Holding Asia through Moya Indonesia Holdings Pte. Ltd acquired Acuatico Group worth $92.87 million,” according to Moya Holdings Asia Ltd, a parent company of Moya Indonesia.
Apart from acquiring Acuatico, Salim Group, which has controlled Mora Indonesia since 2015, also paid Actuatico’s debt of $152.31 million.
City owned tap water operator PAM Java president director Erlan Hidayat said he had heard about the change of ownership but had not received official information from Aetra. (bbn)
