resident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo held a press conference at his private residence in Surakarta, Central Java on Sunday announcing the wedding date of his daughter Kahiyang Ayu.

Kahiyang, currently a student at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB), engaged in June with Bobby Affif Nasution, who is a senior at her campus, and is expected to tie the knot in November.

Bobby is the son of former executive director of state-owned plantation holding company PT Perkebunan Nusantara II, Erwin Nasution. Erwin passed away in in January this year.

"I apologize for [giving information] on such short notice. Because I happen to be here [in Surakarta], I also want to make the announcement. But the spokesperson for the family is Gibran, so the floor is yours," Jokowi said, asking his eldest son Gibran Rakabuming Raka to give plans for the wedding.

In his statement, Gibran said that wedding for her sister would take place on Nov. 8 at the Graha Sabha Buana Hall, near Jokowi's private home in downtown Surakarta.

Gibran said that the media would be given access to cover the ceremony and that he would set up a media center for the event.

"Don't worry, we will set up a media center for journalists. It will be operational in the lead-up to the wedding," Gibran told reporters.
