ational flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, in cooperation with state-owned lender Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), will hold the second edition of the Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF), following the success of the first edition in March.

Garuda Indonesia marketing and information technology director Nina Sulistyowati said the second GATF would be carried in the form of road shows in 22 cities.

In Jakarta, the GATF will take place from Sept. 22 to 24, while the roadshow in the other cities has started since Sept. 15 and will end on Oct.1.

“From the 22 cities, Garuda aims to collect Rp 501 billion [US$37.83 million] in ticket sales,” said Nina in Jakarta on Monday.

From Jakarta alone, the organizers aim to collect Rp 283 billion from 76,000 expected visitors.

“The first GATF saw 74,000 visitors [at the Jakarta Convention Center], with total ticket sales of Rp 279 billion,” he added.

Meanwhile, BNI business consumption director Anggoro Eko Cahyo said the lender had arranged a number of incentives for ticket buyers, including Rp 1.7 million cashback for tickets purchased using a BNI Premium card or BNI Garuda Debit card.

The holders of other BNI cards can also get cashback of up to Rp 1.5 million, he added.

The tickets sold during the fair include those to airports near tourist destinations, including Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, Mount Bromo in East Java, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Morotai in Maluku, Thousand islands in Jakarta, Belitung in Bangka Belitung, Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi and Tanjung Lesung in Banten.
